Bolt Action Top Secret Mission

Many times i have looked at this mission and thought it is quite hard. The ability to move to the centre of the table, pick it up and run back off the table, is no easy task in six turns. I have always thought that transport would make this mission easier.   What i didn't realise is you can pass on the the objective to another unit, which can then do the same. Making it the retrieval of the objective a lot easier.  Anyway here's my latest report with my Germans against the Americans. Click here for Batrep.     Another steep learning curve on keeping you eye on the objective.

War and Conquest

Finally after 3yrs of having the book i get to start playing WaC properly. I really think these rules are my current favorite historical set for this scale of game. Click here for Battle Report The problem i have now is what to do for this ruleset... currently we have plenty of Dark Ages players but not with large armies, so currently i am writing up a set of campaign rules for battling across the British Isles. We are probably going to start with a SAGA campaign to allow people to build up their armies to reasonable size. After that i'd like to move to WaC. There is talk of trying to build to a Hastings game, which would be great fun. As a dark age re-enactor i have been at Battle Abbey several times for the battle and would love to give it a go.  After that ... well thats going to take some convincing to the other players. I would really like to do a European campaign set with the similar design of Rome Total War, with all players taking various different armies.

Some more Bolt Action....action.

So this week at club was an all day'er. So managed to get in two good games of Bolt Action in. This time up against the Finns. Click here for Bolt Action Report

Bolt Action Report

So our league games continue this time with Bolt Action. Click here for battle report 1  Really like how this system plays, with the random alternative order, but it does slow the whole process down, making even small games take a while to play. I think 40k should have been like this, its a really good feeling of scale and action. Currently Bolt Action is my favourite WW2 ruleset. If you want to see more on the games league of out club and what games we played, check out: diceanddagger.blogspot.co.uk

Current projects

So i have held true and finally finished a unit of mounted Hearthguard. Nice and pleased with the results.  The miniatures are from Crusader Miniatures. Also with seasons Bolt Action league, i'm trying to get into painting drab germans :D, least the method was quick and they don't look too bad either. I have 3 of these squads in 1000pts each with a LMG, Asault rifle and an NCO with Sub-machine gun. These are the plastics from warlord games.

Some Anglo-Danish action..

Below is the link to my latest SAGA battle report. Click here for Battle Report  I have also been working on more Saxons so i can change around my Anglo-Saxon list a bit. Currently i'm painting some mailed Saxons to represent my warriors to separate them from my levy. So far i have one unit. They are all Crusader miniatures.

Well Pendraken's February painting comp is all over, and i managed to get in with second place with my goblins below, which i'm really chuffed about.  Below is a link to the Pendraken forum with all the winners, there is some great 10mm inspiration from plenty of different periods. Well worth a look. Click here for Pendraken winners. My runner up, entry... Goblin Red-Paws
