Some Age of Magic

Image
AGE OF MAGIC   Finally got my GoPro to work as i want i wanted to try a new way of recording video's. So i use my Lizardmen to create a Great Kingdoms force and got at it. Click here for Battle Report   Let me know if you rather this style of report. WARHAMMER 6TH   Got my Saurus hero painted, just leaving me with 6 command figures to paint. So, hopefully by the next set of vids it will be a fully painted 1000pt army. 5th Edition Warhammer Saurus Hero - Games Workshop 5th Edition Warhammer Saurus Hero - Games Workshop AMERA PLASTICS   So i have finished all i have brought from Amera to complete my Lustria Themed table. Really happy how it turned out. Here's the table with about £60 of scenery on it and it fills a 6'x4' table nicely.  Amera Plastics Scenery   Then just add some bamboo skewer trees, aquarium plant shrubs and some lichen foliage and you have a decent looking table.  Finally some shot...

Thanks for Watching!

I have to say thanks that to all those that have subscribed to my youtube channel. I have finally crossed 1000 subscribers, which I honestly didn't see myself getting to. I know my vids are pretty crude to the modern standard and cover a varying amount of different games, so I appreciate the support. THANKS! Middle-Earth   So the next two games are up from Kirton Games and in the meantime I have taken part in another tournament since so plenty more to come, though i use a bit of an odd ball list in the next one. Click here for Game 3 Click here for Game 4 I also manage to paint up some new elf recruits from the last "Made to Order" GW did. They are a trio of models i have wanted to pick up for a while. SAGA: Age of Magic  I finally have got my first battle report up for some AoM. The members of the club have keenly dusted off much of their old fantasy and we have been enjoying the mechanics a lot, so hopefully more to follow! Cli...

Lights, Camera.... doh!

Ok, so trying to get some proper video battle reports together, but so far not much has gone to plan. With three failures and 2 weeks between game its taken a while to get some reports together.  It may be a little while before i can grasp the simplicity of moving pictures.... but until then i still have some other battle reports up. Middle-Earth SBG    So Kirton games has another event coming up, so i am still practicing my 500pts list with Elendil. Still not sure if he is an over investment at 500pts. So here's a game against Mordor: Click here for Battle Report Mordheim   Still getting some games in with my Bretonnians. Now i have a Warlock, lets see if i can win a game! Click here for Battle Report Age of Magic  Finally my new fantasy SAGA rules have arrived and they look fantastic! Generic enough to cover pretty much all fantasy genres while varied enough that i think we will see a lot of interesting things coming from...

Back to (hobby) work!

Image
Okay, back into a paint schedule of sorts... well trying to be.   i have managed to complete Eomer for a friend, while working on a conversion of my own, mounted Elendil. I'm not big on sculpting but wanted to give it a go, the results you can see below: Got some more battle reports. SAGA and Lord of the Rings. Click here for SAGA report Click here for LotR report   Finally i'm going to end with a paint tally, i'm going to add to it each time i finish some figures and see how i do over the year. But also see what takes preference, gaming wise. Work for other people i'll add, as it takes up my painting time anyway, and will keep that under commission work. So till next time, all the best with whatever you'r gaming. Dha Weles! Commission Lord of the Rings - 1

Catch up!

Still been hectic at work and my list of items to paint only seem to grow. At the club we have been giving Warhammer 40k: Kill Team a go and its not bad. For a quick game using our existing mini's it plays ok, but the rules aren't the most exciting.   Hopefully soon we will try a little campaign and add in the experience part of it, to see what happens. I have actually gone out and brought a White Dwarf magazine, something i haven't brought since the early 2000's. But it has rules for a Kroot kill team and i'd thought it would be fun to dig my old mini's and get some paint on them. These guys are some of my favourite GW miniatures.   I have also got some new Batreps up, including a SAGA one. I know its been a while, but the club is looking at running an event in March. Epic LOTR and the final SAGA reports.

Image
Hey Folks, its been a while. The sunny weather has kept my busy in work, but finally i have the final two reports from our SAGA event. Click here for Game 3 Click here for Game 2   With the results of the event i came away with a "Vagn the Fearless" model. Which i really liked the look of, so i instantly got him painted. I am unsure what to do.. do i look at mustering for some Jomsvike or shall i have him as a prize.... below are some photo's of him. Sorry they are not sharp but my camera seems to be failing me and struggles to focus.   We have also been having a epic day games of Lord of the Rings. We have been doing the old "Castle Duel" scenario, which have done before. Each time we play we adjust the rules and they get better each time. Below are some shots of the battle, plus the rules we use. I would point we use the siege rules for the castles from the blue book, not the new hobbit book, which seems to have removed ...

SAGA tourney reports

Image
This weekend I ran a SAGA tourney. Designed to be a friendly event to get folks into the new V2 rules, the day went well. Four games were played including two doubles matches.   All-in-all everyone seem to enjoy it, and many thanks to those that traveled to North Cornwall to play!  Below are my first 2 games for the event: Click here for game 1 Click here for game 2  Hopefully the other two will follow soon. Dha weles!

Last practice game for me....

Reviews....Scenery and SAGA

Image
Hey folks, i have made two quick reviews. The first i look at the supplement for the Viking Age for SAGA. Click Here for Review   Secondly, is a review for some great plastic scenery from Warlord Games (tabletop workshop). I stumbled across them while looking at warlords new castle and they caught my interest. Especially the fact they also had internal detail. So i picked one up. I was so impressed i brought some others and thought i'd share my thought on these fantastically well thought out pieces. You can find them here . Click here for review  I have also got round to finishing of my Frostgrave warband. With the last few painted, my starting warband is complete.  And finally got to havea go at Gaslands from Osprey games, and it was great fun. A very well thought out system, that you can have some fun with. Below is some images of my van. Till next time, dha weles!
