Still at it.....

Image
So still painting away, with limited chances to game. With my online gaming limited to thanks to internet provider updating mast for the last 3 month, so no idea how long that will last.  WARHAMMER FANTASY   My lizards are coming along, hopefully soon to be a 2k force. With that in mind here's a Battle report from our Escalation tournament. Click here for Battle Report   So after each game, we are going to try to get in a big game. This time we were missing a player so we did an Ambush scenario. It was fun with a win for the forces of evil. 28mm SCI FI   Got a little space game coming up so needed to make some terrain, so i, of course went to see what i could make out of cereal box card. It actually worked out really well, and will do me nicely. So i put together a quick "how to". Click here for scenery tutorial. EPIC UK   So i have managed to get a few interested in epic, and had  quick go at it. I forgot how simple and fun it was and will be lo...

Some Age of Magic

Image
AGE OF MAGIC   Finally got my GoPro to work as i want i wanted to try a new way of recording video's. So i use my Lizardmen to create a Great Kingdoms force and got at it. Click here for Battle Report   Let me know if you rather this style of report. WARHAMMER 6TH   Got my Saurus hero painted, just leaving me with 6 command figures to paint. So, hopefully by the next set of vids it will be a fully painted 1000pt army. 5th Edition Warhammer Saurus Hero - Games Workshop 5th Edition Warhammer Saurus Hero - Games Workshop AMERA PLASTICS   So i have finished all i have brought from Amera to complete my Lustria Themed table. Really happy how it turned out. Here's the table with about £60 of scenery on it and it fills a 6'x4' table nicely.  Amera Plastics Scenery   Then just add some bamboo skewer trees, aquarium plant shrubs and some lichen foliage and you have a decent looking table.  Finally some shot...

Hills and Lizards...

WARHAMMER 6TH     Got another battle report. This is another 2 vs 2, continuing on from the last... Click here for Video   I have to say with the increase of late for older editions of fantasy i wasn't surprised Games Workshop teased a release of "Warhammer: The Old World" in about 5 years time... might be an interesting time! AMERA PLASTICS   Still getting through the bits i brought. Here's their large hill. Its a good size and mostly flat for moving miniatures across. Its also made using thick plastic so should take a knock. Just two more pieces to do... for now   Thats it for now. Dha weles!

Reviews....Scenery and SAGA

Image
Hey folks, i have made two quick reviews. The first i look at the supplement for the Viking Age for SAGA. Click Here for Review   Secondly, is a review for some great plastic scenery from Warlord Games (tabletop workshop). I stumbled across them while looking at warlords new castle and they caught my interest. Especially the fact they also had internal detail. So i picked one up. I was so impressed i brought some others and thought i'd share my thought on these fantastically well thought out pieces. You can find them here . Click here for review  I have also got round to finishing of my Frostgrave warband. With the last few painted, my starting warband is complete.  And finally got to havea go at Gaslands from Osprey games, and it was great fun. A very well thought out system, that you can have some fun with. Below is some images of my van. Till next time, dha weles!

The Village grows and the last nominee...

Image
So for my Winter Warmer with the Table Top Commanders, i decided my challenge will be completing my Cereal box village and seeing how far i can go with cereal box card as my main construction material.    With two buildings complete i next wanted to bulk out the cover so had a go at making some walls, as they make some quick and easy terrain. Click here for Wall tutorial   Still i am adding to my old Empire, though bored of the old rank and file, i'd thought i'd paint up a mercenary captain and who better than the model for Herr Felix Jaegar. The model seems small to the newer GW figs but still a great figure. Final Nomination    My final nomination for I am a wargamer goes to, "Battle Knights". I chose this channel as it has good videos, covering a range of different games, some of which you dont get to see many reports for and its always nice to see a range of games i a hobby. So good luck lads, your next! Check them out here! ...

Buildings, Games and oh, I am a wargamer!

Image
Okay, so continuing on with my Empire, i thought i'd go old school and make some building from cereal box card.. i was happy with the result, so i made a video on what i created. The buuildings design is basic enough that i could use it from the medieval period to probably ww2, plus wouldn't be out of place in Bree! Click here for tutorial  My Bretons are out again, hampering the Anglo-danes who decided to pick a fight. This time i squabble over a couple of bridges. Click here for report    Finallt i was nominate by Jack Sarge  for an "I am a Wargamer" video. So i filled in the challenge and completed it. The only thing i didn't do was decide on my third nominee. I though i would give the viewers a chance to put forward a wargaming channel for me to nominate. This way i get to pick through some channels, hopefully some of which i haven't come a across before. Click here for "I am a wargamer" so, see you next time... Dha weles...

X-wing and Hastings

Image
Well, to start of here is my X-wing battle report. Still working out the best way to make a report for this... what do i follow? Each maneuver? Each turn?. So far i have gone for end of each turn. but it might change as i believe the maneuvering is a big part of the game and should be shown. Click here for Report   Also Battle 1066 is a little closer, and i have just finished my Senlac Ridge for the Battle of Hastings. Just more Normans to paint!   Also i am tring to brighten up my boards with some green, my battle reports of drab brown will hopefully become slightly brighter.

Welcome to the Jungle

So with ideas flying around my head for a Scifi 28mm ruleset, I have been constructing some Jungle Terrain. Here's a quick video on what i'm doing. Click here for Jungle video
